Sequoyah Hunter-Cuyjet

Sequoyah is Vice President of Determined by Design, a firm where the core belief is Design Equity, that is well-designed interior spaces are not a luxury for a few but a standard for all. This belief informs every project. As a designer, she has a range that comes from an appreciation of various cultures and histories. Her residential and corporate interiors design background allows her to design 50,000 square feet with the same care and attention given to 500 square feet. She believes every project is a chance to create a unique and diverse environment and can design a classical interior with the same ease as an austere modern one.  For Sequoyah, every style and aesthetic have meaning and purpose—not one greater than the other. Boutique Magazine recognized her as a 2020 Boutique 18—a rising star in hospitality design.

Before joining Determined by Design Sequoyah was a Senior Interior Designer at Floss Barber Inc. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College where she studied studio art, literature and anthropology and a Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Moore College of Art & Design.

Sequoyah was raised on the eastern shores of the Shinnecock Indian Reservation, nestled in Southampton, New York and currently lives in Philadelphia.
